Rowdy

is what you might call a "pocket Pyrenees". After our rescue rep drove three hours to save this guy from a kill shelter, he found a sort of Pyr-looking dog that at 20 inches is overweight at 70 pounds! Well, after bringing him to the vet for neutering and shots, etc, it was concluded he was probably a Pyr crossed with something like an American Eskimo.
At the annual Rescue picnic, Rowdy endeared himself to everyone, even the other Pyrs. He's got a full-sized Pyr personality in a smaller package. He is being fostered in El Dorado County.

O'Connor

is approximately 18 months old. He came to us via the shelter in Calaveras County. He might be a mix but we're not sure. He is big and white and has double dew claws but his coat is shorter then the typical pyrenees. He is being evaluated as a Family Farm dog and has gotten along well with goats. We are testing him with sheep as well. He is shy around men but warms to women after a while.
He is being fostered in El Dorado County.

Patou

was found as a stray in Tehama County. He loves to be outside investigating the yard, enjoys being brushed and petted, gets along well with everyone he's met so far and loves to ride in the car, where he lies down and goes to sleep. He has been neutered, had his teeth cleaned and an ear infection is being treated. The vet estimates his age as 3-4 years.

His forever home will have to be willing to pay close attention to ear cleaning to prevent further infections.
He is being fostered in Sonoma County.

Patou 4-24-08

Mack

is approximately 3 years old. He has matured greatly in rescue, and is now a happy guy who loves having a buddy to play with in a big yard. He thinks cats are to chase, but minds when told to knock it off. Mack is a gentleman, and greets everyone by shaking with first one paw and then the other. He keeps his pen clean, and knows basic obedience commands. He likes to go for walks, is bright, and needs someone who will give him clear guidelines on good behavior. He is neutered, has all his shots, and appears to be very healthy. He would love to go to a home with another big dog who likes to play without having to dominate him.
He is being fostered in Placer County.
