Napa

is a two-year old neutered male that was relinquished to a shelter by his owner who was moving to a place that wouldn't allow dogs. He is said to walk well on a leash, is playful and friendly and gets along with other dogs. He has always been kept out of doors, but his status with livestock is unknown. He's afraid of loud noises - gunshots and fireworks - which is not uncommon with the breed. He rides well in the car. He's known to be food-aggressive around other dogs so should be fed by himself.
He is being fostered in Sonoma County.

Lobo

was abandoned when his sheep were moved, and was close to starvation when rescued by the combined efforts of good samaritans and a GPRNC family. The story of his rescue is told here and is a testament to the determination of both dog and rescuers.

Update 2/16 - his foster mother writes: .
His ear infection continues to be treated; he saw the vet Tuesday and was evaluated as healthy enough to start the heartworm treatment and he was vaccinated. He's eating well and has gained about 20 lbs..

Lobo with goats
Lobo is shown here enjoying his first time out with the goats. First thing he did was check the perimeter then find the high spot. He is a working dog for sure

Polaris

is a two year old Pyr mix in the Colusa shelter. He has been neutered and chipped and is looking for a home that will love him and keep him inside a fence. His former owner said he is good with other dogs and livestock. Contact Courtney D. Elliott, Chief Animal Control Officer Colusa County, Ph: (530) 458-0229

Jessie

is a young neutered Pyr-cross in the care of Tri-Valley Animal Shelter. He is being given professional positive-reinforcement obedience training to channel his puppy-like enthusiasm.
Anyone interested in Jessie should contact Susan James of Tri Valley at ssuejames@gmail.com
